Fantasy Football Week 4 Wide Receiver Preview: Matchups That Matter, Screenings, DFS Games & More

If you watched the Cowboys game on Monday night as Ezekiel Elliott Fantasy manager, you had to be encouraged. The same cannot be said for wide receivers.

CeeDee Lamb and Amari Cooper combined for just seven targets in a game where the Cowboys shot the ball 41 times. It was the second week in a row that the team ran the ball more than they passed, which isn’t what we’d expect from a Kellen Moore-led attack. Under Moore, the Cowboys had thrown the ball at a 56% rate heading into 2021. In Week 1 that number was even higher, but that hasn’t held up over the past two weeks. .

It’s hard to know how much to win in two weeks, but the Cowboys defense looks much better and the offense has handled the ball very well over the past two weeks. That, combined with the Panthers’ strong start in defense, puts Lamb and Cooper outside my top 12 for the first time this season. What is harder to tell is if they are both out of this range for the rest of the season.

Right now, I think they’ll both be # 2 high-end wide receivers, making them low buy candidates if someone is willing to sell less than that. Just be aware that if the use of the past two weeks continues, you won’t buy low. And neither Cooper, Lamb nor Dak Prescott will meet their Draft Day expectations.
