Fantasy waiver thread goals for week 3 of the 2021 NFL season

Miami WR DeVante Parker: Parker may seem like a surprise on a waiver list, but he’s only signed up in 29% of NFL.com leagues, and that’s just too low. Parker led the Dolphins with seven targets in Week 1, with four catches and a top 81 yards. Then, in week two, he again led them into the goals with nine. He caught five for 42 yards, but it was mostly with Jacoby Brissett, not Tua Tagovailoa, whose availability this week is unclear (bruised ribs). Parker’s fantastic value is that Will Fuller is in the air right now. After missing week 1 due to a suspension he missed week 2 due to a personal issue and while the team expect him to be available for week 3 he is probably behind Parker and Waddle at least for the foreseeable future as he acclimates to this offense. . We all hope all is well for Fuller, but in the meantime, that means the Dolphins will need Jaylen Waddle and Parker to step up. Both should be entered in some fantastic 12-team leagues.

Raiders WR Henry Ruggs III: The story after Raiders Week 1 Monday night football game was that Ruggs had never seen more than five targets in a match. Well that changed in Week 2 as Ruggs had five catches for 113 yards and one touchdown on seven targets. He also came up against a tough defense from the Steelers which managed to take out Darren Waller and Bryan Edwards. The Raiders are urged to start Ruggs after picking him as the top wide receiver in the 2020 NFL Draft. He’s not someone to pick up and start every week, but he has the advantage of become a contributor every week, if not better.

WR Rondale Moore Cardinals: Moore saw eight targets, a team high, in week two, catching seven for 114 yards and a touchdown. He led or was tied for the top of the team in each category. Moore only played 47% of the snaps in Week 2, but that was an increase from the 30% he played in Week 1. The Cardinals have executed four of 19 wide receiver sets. % of their games, the second highest number in the NFL. This means Moore will get opportunities every week. The three Cards receivers behind DeAndre Hopkins may be inconsistent, but they will put numbers into the Cards’ high powered offense. Plus, Moore will carve out a bigger role for himself if he continues to have games like this.

WR Jamison Crowder Jets: Crowder has yet to play this season, so his name added here may sound odd. Let me explain. So far this season, Zach Wilson has thrown 30% of his passes into the slot. This also led to fantastic value for the top slot option on the Jets. Braxton Berrios led the Jets in the slots course and in Week 2 he had seven catches for 73 yards on 11 targets, a high for the team. In Week 1, he tied for the team lead with seven targets, catching five for 51 yards. Crowder will take on this role when he’s active, likely in week 3. Catch him when the cost is cheap.

Cardinals WR AJ Green: I know I mentioned Moore earlier, and he’s the Cardinals’ favorite option, but Green still has a role in that high powered attack. He played the second most snaps in each of their matches and has six targets in each. He was also able to find the end zone in week two. It’s more of a safe ground game, while Christian Kirk and Moore are games on the rise here, but there is value for Green in this role, especially in the deeper formats.

Vikings WR KJ Osborn: Osborn finished Week 2 with six targets, five catches, 91 yards and one touchdown. It was after he saw nine targets in Week 1, running 76 yards on seven catches. He was clearly the Vikings’ third option in the passing game behind Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen. While I like the other names on this list more, production has been there for Osborn and it’s time for fantasy players to take note.

More in-depth options: Zach Pascal returned to the end zone in week two. He has now scored three times this season. He’s seen five and six targets in both games, which is why he’s not higher on the free agent receiver list, but if you play in anything over 12 teams he should be listed. . Dyami Brown and Adam Humphries stood out on the national stage Thursday night. Humphries had eight targets, the second on Washington, catching seven for 44 yards. Brown had six targets, catching three for 34 yards, including one for 22 yards. Humphries has the safest floor, but the ceiling is low. Brown is the game upside down, but the ground is inconsistent. Both are at stake in deeper leagues if Curtis Samuel is sidelined. Anthony Schwartz had fewer catches in Week 2 but had five targets and showed his speed in Week 1. If Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham are sidelined in Week 3 , it will be a sneaky option.

TE Jared Cook Chargers: Cook was limited to just three catches for 28 yards on five targets, but had a touchdown that was struck out for a penalty. This was after being targeted eight times in Week 1. Keenan Allen, Mike Williams and Austin Ekeler are the best options in the passing game for the Chargers, but Cook looks next in a team that will throw a lot. Consistent targets and some use in the red zone are enough to keep him in play in the top 15.

Colts TE Jack Doyle: Doyle saw eight targets in Week 2, the second among the Colts. He caught five for 64 yards and got a 2-point conversion, good for over 13 fantastic points and enough to make him a tight top five this week. Doyle is never going to blow your mind, but after tight ends you’re just looking for someone who can give you double-digit fancy points and Doyle fits that bill. Although you will have to monitor Carson Wentz’s status in the future.

TE Cardinals Maxx Williams: The Cardinals haven’t had a relevant tight end for some time, but Williams is looking to change that. He’s been targeted seven times, the second most significant on the cards. He caught the seven for 94 yards, scoring a fantastic 16.4 points – enough to make him the TE3 forward Monday night football. Its use is particularly interesting since Cards use a good number of sets of four receivers, but use like this from a narrow end cannot be ignored. There’s a chance Williams will be fired on the waiver thread after Week 3, but considering what he’s been up to this week, he’s fit for an aviator on a team in need.
