Fast food employee makes fun of deaf woman who could not use loudspeaker – Raw Story

A fast-food employee was fired this week after being filmed on camera screaming and making fun of a deaf woman who could not use the restaurant speaker.

The local WTAP news channel announced that ReVae Arnaud-Jensen had been trying to order food at a Jack in the Box franchise in Campbell, California at the end of last month, but that there was a worker there. was denied service because she was going directly to the collection window rather than placing the order -by the speaker.

The reason why Arnaud-Jensen broke the protocol, is because she is deaf and that she would not have been able to use the speaker. So she went to the collection window to read the lips of the worker and place his order more easily.

The restaurant worker, however, did not understand her situation and continued to reprimand her even after she repeatedly told her that she was deaf. He shouted after her and told him that he would not serve her, but she refused to be chased out.

After complaining about the way she had been treated, the restaurant manager informed her that the worker had been fired. Jack in the Box also issued a statement stressing that "we do not tolerate any mistreatment towards a client and expect employees that they follow all training procedures, that they are respectful, courteous and accommodating with all the guests ".
