The FBI is “aware” of an American Airlines pilot’s report of an apparent UFO seen hovering over northeastern New Mexico earlier this week – but stopped before confirming whether an investigation was underway, Fox News learned Thursday.

American Airlines confirmed to Fox News on Tuesday that the audio transmission was from Flight 2292, but referred further questions to the FBI.
A spokesperson for the FBI office in Albuquerque responded to Fox News’ request on Thursday for comment and confirmation.

In Sunday’s radio broadcast, the American Airlines pilot was first heard asking an unidentified person, presumably from air traffic control, if they had “any targets here.”
