WASHINGTON (AP) – A federal watchdog has recommended that White House advisor Kellyanne Conway be fired for repeatedly violating legislation restricting certain political activities by federal employees.
According to the US office of the special council, Conway has become a "recidivist" of the Hatch law by denigrating the Democratic candidates for the presidency while speaking officially in television interviews and on social networks.
A White House spokesman described the Special Adviser's actions as "deeply flawed".
The office is not linked to the office of the special advocate Robert Mueller.
Government officials guilty of violations of the Hatch Act may be dismissed, suspended or demoted and fined up to $ 1,000.
Conway has been an unflinching advocate of President Donald Trump on cable news. Trump praised her for her "success" in her career.
