Federal Trade Commission Sends Letter to McDonald’s Restaurants Regarding Frequently Broken Ice Cream Machines

SAN FRANCISCO – The McFlurry machines at McDonalds keep breaking, and now the Federal Trade Commission wants answers.

There is no formal investigation yet, but the Wall Street Journal reports that the FTC has sent a letter to McDonald’s restaurant owners for more information on the McFlurry machines.

The agency wants to know, among other things, how often restaurateurs are allowed to work on their own machines.

It’s part of the Biden administration’s efforts to write new rules for the right to mend the movement.

Federal officials want to make it easier for consumers and businesses to repair their own equipment.
