WASHINGTON, DC – The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Fisher-Price issued a warning on Friday about the Rock-n Fisher-Price game following reports of babies who died after falling over in the product.
The CPSC said it was aware of the deaths of at least 10 children in the Rock 'n play since 2015, after the kids rolled their backs to the belly or side, while they were no longer attached.
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, all 10 infants were 3 months old or older.
CPSC recommends that consumers stop using the Rock 'n Play product as early as three months of age or as soon as the baby has surrogate abilities.
Babies usually return at the age of 3 months. However, many babies can do it much sooner.
CPSC had previously warned consumers to use restraints in inclined sleep products for babies.
The reported deaths show that some consumers still use the product when babies are able to ride without using the three-point safety harness, according to the CPSC.
CPSC and Fisher-Price remind consumers to create a safe sleeping environment, whether you're using a crib, cradle, playground, or tilted bed: Never add blankets, pillows, stuffed toys, or other items to the environment and always place the babies on which they sleep their backs.
