Here is the recap for Fedspeak today:

5:50 GMT – George, Fed talks to Helsinki

Kansas City Fed President Esther George will speak at a forum on "Demographics, Macroeconomic Trends and Economic Policies". There will also be a question-and-answer session with the public after and given the topic, we could possibly hear policy remarks. Note that George is a voting member of the FOMC this year and is also one of the most hawkish members.

12:30 GMT – The testimony of Fed President Powell is made public

Powell will testify before the House Financial Services panel later in the day, but his testimony will be made public in advance so that markets can review it. So be aware of both schedules because he will speak in front of the panel at 14:00 GMT. As testimonials are a semi-annual report on monetary policy, be aware of any clues that may affect expectations before the next FOMC meeting this month.

14:00 GMT – Fed Chairman Powell testifies before House Financial Services Panel

Powell will begin his testimony at this time, so beware of additional comments that he may add based on the questions the panel has asked him.

17:30 GMT – Bullard Fed expresses in St Louis

Like yesterday, Bullard will speak at the OMFIF conference to be held at the University of Washington. This time, he will participate in a moderated Q & A session and will also answer questions from the public and the press. As such, be wary of any remarks about politics or prospects just in case.

18:00 GMT – June FOMC Minutes released

It will not only be Powell today, we will also have to digest the minutes of the June FOMC meetings. This will help to better understand what Fed members discussed when they changed their position to become more dovish last month.
