Fox News has learned that Felicity Huffman has agreed to plead guilty to the fraud scam at the university that has trapped wealthy parents.
On Monday, the 56-year-old actress announced her decision, explaining that she accepted "full responsibility" for her actions.
"I plead guilty to the charge brought against me by the US Attorney's Office," said the alum of "Desperate Housewives" in a statement obtained by Fox News.

"I am fully aware of my guilt and, with deep regret and shame for what I have done, accept responsibility for my actions and accept the resulting consequences," continued Huffman. "I am ashamed of the pain I have caused to my daughter, my family, my friends, my colleagues and the educational community, and I wish to apologize to them and, in particular, my apologies to the students who work hard every day to get to the university and their parents, who make huge sacrifices to support their children and do it honestly.
"My daughter knew absolutely nothing about my actions and, erroneously and deeply mistaken, I betrayed her, this transgression to her and to the public that I will carry all my life. does not constitute an excuse to break the law or engage in dishonesty, "she concluded.
"I am fully aware of my guilt and I deeply regret what I have done."
The Justice Department revealed Monday that Mr Huffman was one of 11 accused. He was charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud and fraud relating to honest services. He agreed to plead guilty under plea agreements.
