Federal prosecutors intend to seek Felicity Huffman's sentence of four to ten months in prison, according to a new report.

Citing a police source aware of the investigation, CNN reports that several months in jail should be among the sentencing requests of prosecutors.

She is one of more than 50 people arrested in a corruption scandal at a college that has allowed the richest families in the country to pay for their children's entry into highly selective colleges and universities.

Huffman, best known for his role in "Desperate Housewives", is one of the high-ranking defendants. She is accused of bribing a supervisor to correct the answers to her older daughter's SAT exam. Huffman's daughter passed the exam in December 2017 and scored 1,420, more than 400 points higher than her PSAT, according to authorities.

Actress Lori Loughlin, who plays "Full House" in the role of Aunt Becky, and her husband, designer Mossimo Giannulli, are also accused of paying bribes to have their daughters recruited from the University of Southern California team, although they have never participated in this sport.

Huffman and a dozen other relatives have agreed to plead guilty this month to a charge of conspiracy to commit fraud.

For pleading guilty, Huffman should benefit from a reduced sentence and prosecutors will refuse to bring new charges, according to CNN.

Loughlin and Giannulli were part of a group of parents charged with new charges last week, including mail and money laundering. They pleaded not guilty and waived their right to appear in court in documents filed in federal court on Monday.
