The alleged involvement of Felicity Huffman in a school admissions program seems to have been predicted in an episode of "Desperate Housewives".
The Oscar-nominated actress made headlines Tuesday after she and her friend Lori Loughlin were charged with fraud and conspiracy with dozens of other people in a scam that, according to the federal prosecutors, would have seen affluent parents pay bribes so that their kids reach the top colleges.
Felicity Huffman and William H. Macy were married in 1997. Huffman and Lori Loughlin were charged with nearly 50 other people on Tuesday, March 12, 2019.

Huffman's character in the television series "Desperate Housewives" did something similar to what she is accused of in the fifth episode of the first season of the series.
In the episode, Lynette Scavo, of Huffman's character, explains to her husband, Tom, how their twins would enter an elite private school. Both decide to make a contribution to the school to be able to enter. BuzzFeed was the first to report on the coincidence.

"How many?" Tom asked his wife.

The fictional couple arrives with the money after selling Tom 's boat.

Huffman, 56, is accused of having paid $ 15,000 disguised as charitable donations so that her daughter could participate in a seemingly rigged college entrance examination. Court documents revealed that a witness who met with actor William H. Macy, her husband, actor William H. Macy, had explained to them that he was "controlling" a test center and that it was possible that someone secretly altered the responses of his daughter. The person told the investigators that the couple had accepted the plan.
Huffman was arrested on Tuesday before being released on bail of $ 250,000. Macy was not charged.
