DETROIT (AP) – Fiat Chrysler is recalling more than 300,000 vehicles in North America, due to a transmission problem that could cause them to ride unexpectedly.

The recall concerns Dodge Dart compact cars from 2013 to 2016 equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission.

The company said that a ring could fail, which would result in the detachment of the gearshift cable from the transmission. This means that when a driver goes into parking mode or to another report, it may not change and the car may roll.

Fiat Chrysler said it did not experience any accidents or injuries. But he advises owners to stop the engine and set the parking brake before leaving the cars.

Dealers will replace the crossing at no cost to the owners. The recall should begin May 31st.
