The Washington Capitals continued their encouraging win in San Jose with a draw against the Anaheim Ducks a few days later. The Caps dropped 5-2 at the Ducks and have an immediate chance to bounce back tonight in Los Angeles.
The Ducks surpassed Caps 39-25.
- Alex Ovechkin scored his 40th goal of the season and this is the tenth time in his career that he has achieved this feat. Only three other players in the history of the NHL have recorded as many seasons of 40 goals. They are Marcel Dionne (ten), Mario Lemieux (10) and Wayne Gretzky (12). At least Ovi is always great.
- The Caps were beaten to five against five in all three periods of this match. Recall that, as Peter said last night at the recap, the Ducks have just overthrown their coach, which has lost a potential goalkeeper Hart trophy in John Gibson injured and are inhabitants of the basement of the Western Conference.
- Another bad news, the Caps have lost TJ Oshie to an upper body injury in the second period and he did not return. According to all reports, it does not seem to be a concussion or injury in the long run, but still remains frightening.
With help on Ovechkin's goal, John Carlson now has 300 career assistants and can become the third defender in franchise history to record 300 aides (Calle Johansson: 361 assists; Scott Stevens: 331 aid).

- There are so many bad results from individual players that I can not choose a couple to showcase. John Carlson, Matt Niskanen, Dmitry Orlov, Michal Kempny, Evgeny Kuznetsov, the whole fourth line, etc.
- To end this bad boy with positive momentum, the Hershey Bears are part of a series of 15 games in which they have won 14 of those games. Sacred baloney.
