One night after an embarrassing defeat against the Anaheim Ducks, the Washington Capitals got up and clutched to beat the Los Angeles Kings 3-2.
The Kings surpassed Caps 28-21.
- Alex Ovechkin is about to score 57 goals at the age of 33. He scored his 41st and 42nd goals of the season Monday night, allowing him to score three goals and 13 goals on the power play. Dude won the match.
- At the first goal of the night, Ovi John Carlson Recorded the 300th decisive pass of his career. Carlson is only the third defenseman in franchise history to reach that total with the club, the top two being Calle Johansson (361) and Scott Stevens (331).
- Monday night was the first time since December 11 that the Caps had scored several power play goals in a game against the Detroit Red Wings. It's a bit crazy for me.
Brett Connolly scores to give the Caps a 2-0 lead. That goal came 20 seconds after the initial count of Ovechkin, the quickest goal the Capitals have scored this season (previously 21 seconds: Oct. 4, 2018 in Pittsburgh).

- It was the first Capitals victory in Los Angeles since December 14, 2005. The match also took place on the occasion of the 14th anniversary of the Peter Bondra for Brooks Laich commerce that capitals and senators of Ottawa did.
- This match ended on a total of seven chances of great danger at five against five. The Caps part of these seven came from Travis Boyd and Chandler Stephenson who both played less than ten minutes to five against five. I do not remember any of those chances.
- Good news, the Caps played a decent game on the road. Bad news, the Los Angeles Kings are really bad. You do not want to be "same" with really bad.
