Fillet trades Crabbe to Hawks against Prince

The Brooklyn Nets are the Allen Crabbe commercial guard and his $ 18.5 million contract with the Atlanta Hawks, freeing up the salary space to get two contracts of maximum independent agents this summer, told ESPN sources close to the league.

The Nets send Crabbe, the No. 17 pick in the NBA Draft in 2019, as well as a first-round pick that is protected by a 2020 Hawks lottery for striker Taurean Prince and a second-round pick from 2021, sources told the League. The transaction can not be finalized until July 6th.

Boston goaltender Kyrie Irving – who should become a free agent – and Brooklyn have a strong mutual interest, told ESPN sources close to the league. The Nets have $ 46 million in salary space for the signing of two free agents with maximum contract, which would include Brooklyn's dream scenario of attracting Kevin Durant of the season for Irving and Golden State, said league sources.

The Knicks are pursuing the same partnership, but league sources say that Irving's interest in the Nets has increased and that Brooklyn has become a serious competitor to attract Irving. The Nets could keep Angelo Russell's restricted player on a maximum – or near-maximum – contract to also play with a free agent star.

The Hawks have three choices in the top 20 currently, including numbers 8, 10 and 17. Atlanta could group them in the project, of course, or include them in other offers to avoid choosing three candidates considered a weak draft. The Hawks have an exceptional young core, including Trae Young and John Collins.
