Filling of the Kanu schedule; Nwankpa; huge RB target; and more…

Good evening Bucknuts members and visitors! There’s a lot going on with Ohio State soccer recruiting, so let’s get started! I will of course have plenty more throughout the night and tomorrow.

1) I reported Thursday that the Ohio State defensive tackle target Kanu hero by Rancho Santa Margarita (California) Catholic was with Brandon Collier and four more perspectives from Europe at the Ohio State BBQ that day. Kanu had returned home to Germany before returning to California in the second half of July as he prepares for his senior football season at Santa Margarita Catholic. He then flew from California to Columbus for his visit with the Buckeyes and had a great time at Ohio State. Kanu then returned to Los Angeles after the barbecue.

Kanu has official visits scheduled to Oklahoma on October 16 when the Sooners host TCU, at Notre Dame on October 23 when the Irish host at USC, Ohio State on October 30 when the Buckeyes play at Penn State and Georgia on October 6. November when the Bulldogs welcome Missouri. He plans to make the five official visits.

While this battle is far from over, I tend to like the Buckeyes’ current position with Kanu and I don’t think Ohio State is dragging anyone out and maybe has a slight advantage.

As for the other four European prospects who were at the Buckeyes’ barbecue, they were the 2022 defensive lineman. Yilanan Ouattara as well as linebacker Kofi Taylor-Barrocks, defensive end American Koumba and linebacker Amaru Chikeme, all in the Class of 2023. As Kanu returned to California from the Ohio State BBQ, these four traveled from Ohio State to Penn State with Collier.
