Films eligible for the 2021 Oscars – Variety

The Academy has released a list of 366 feature films in the running for the upcoming 93rd Academy Awards. The number of eligible films is up from the 344 submitted in 2019, although this is not an AMPAS registration. This is the highest total since the 1970 awards, which had 374 eligible entries.

All of the nominees for the expected awards are on the “Recall List of Eligible Productions for the 93rd Academy Awards,” which includes “The Father” by Florian Zeller, “Judas and the Black Messiah” by Shaka King, “Minari” by Lee Isaac Chung, “Paul Greengrass” News of the World “,” One Night in Miami “by Regina King,” Promising Young Woman “by Emerald Fennell” Nomadland “by Chloe Zhao,” Soul “by Pete Docter and Kemp Powers and “The Trial of the Chicago 7” by Aaron Sorkin. “

Lors des Oscars inauguraux, qui ont célébré les photos de 1927 et 1928, 562 titres figuraient sur la liste de rappel. AMPAS n’avait pas les mêmes directives claires et strictes qui sont en place aujourd’hui. Avant 1950, les listes de rappel ne comportaient pas tous les films éligibles. De 1940 à 1944, les listes de rappel avaient moins de titres par choix de studio. Les studios choisiraient lequel de leurs films apparaîtrait, limitant la liste à environ un tiers des titres éligibles. Ce n’est qu’en 1987 (année gagnante de «The Last Emperor») que l’AMPAS a changé ses règles afin que seuls les titres inclus sur la Liste de Rappel soient éligibles à la nomination.

Le vote s’ouvre pour les membres de l’AMPAS le 5 mars et se termine le 10 mars, les nominations devant être annoncées le 15 mars. La cérémonie est prévue le 25 avril à partir de plusieurs endroits, y compris le Dolby Theatre.
