See 15 minutes of FF7 Remake game with IGN commentary below.
"Thus, anyone playing Final Fantasy VII Remake in classic mode does not have to worry about the action side of the combat system, but can instead focus on the selection of commands, which allows you to play as if it was a classic menu-based RPG! "says Square Enix on the Twitter feed of Final Fantasy VII.
In standard mode, players must repeatedly press the Square button to trigger standard attacks, which in turn load an ATB gauge. When the gauge is full, the command menu can be used to activate special moves or to cast magic spells. In classic mode, the action mode of the fight is for you, it automatically loads the ATB gauge, which brings the operation of this one of the original game.
In addition to standard and classic, Final Fantasy VII Remake will also offer an easy mode with reduced difficulty.
The TGS presentation also showed the Aps boss battle, which showed the summoning mechanisms. In Remake, each character can equip a single Summoning item, which charges during a battle. When fully charged, a call, such as Ifrit or Shiva, can be brought into battle and they will automatically fight alongside Cloud and his allies. You can spend ATB charges to ask the quotes to do special abilities. Summons can only stay in combat until the Summoning Gage is exhausted and they cast their ultimate ability, such as Hellfire of Ifrit, just before disappearing.
