One of the new Final Fantasy VII-related trademarks that was registered in Japan earlier this month has also been registered in Europe and Canada.

As Final Weapon spotted, the Ever Crisis trademark was filed in Europe on January 19 and in Canada on January 18, hinting at a possible global reveal in the near future.

PlayStation 5 version of Final Fantasy VII remake could be announced in February – Rumor

The Ever Crisis brand is a clear callback to the compilation of Final Fantasy VII that expanded the world introduced by the seventh entry in the series. It also follows the compilation’s naming scheme, which started with Advent Children and ended with Dirge of Cerberus.

Ever Crisis might not be the only FFVII related project currently underway. According to rumors, Square Enix will soon announce the PlayStation 5 version of Final Fantasy VII Remake.

The original Final Fantasy VII is out now on PC and consoles. The remake, on the other hand, launched last year on PlayStation 4 only, a great reinvention of the original, despite some controversial developments.

Remaking Final Fantasy VII properly is something that was always going to be very difficult to achieve. All things considered, Square Enix did a good job with Part 1, but the controversial ending will divide the fan base: some will love it, some will hate it. There is no denying, however, that the developer has managed to make this feel like an epic journey by simply using a small slice of the whole adventure.
