The emergence of a whole new expansion for an MMORPG is always an exciting time, and Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker is no exception. Along with new places to visit, mounts to collect, and new FFXIV races to play, there will also be some basic gameplay changes for player jobs. These changes can dramatically alter the gameplay of a Job in ways that make you love your favorite class role even more or convince you to play other Jobs that you’ve never tried before.
On September 18, 2021, Square Enix hosted a live stream and trailer showcasing some of the major changes and new abilities in Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker’s Jobs, as well as a demo of the two new Jobs, the Reaper and Sage. We’ve compiled all of the big changes revealed by the live stream, to help you prepare for your new playstyles when the latest expansion for one of the best multiplayer PC games launches on November 23, 2021.

Changes in Final Fantasy XIV Job: All jobs
- Primary actions will have their recast timers normalized to 60 or 120 seconds.
Changes in Final Fantasy XIV Job: tanks

All tanks
- Activating defensive buffs at optimal times will provide greater benefits.
- Ranged attacks will no longer break melee combos.
- Weapons of the same item level will have parity between their physical and magical attributes. The powers of action will change to accommodate this adjustment of weapons.
Paladin
- The Requiescat spell will no longer lose power, regardless of the number of MPs remaining.
- A new three attack combo starting with Confiteor will be implemented.
- The range of Intervene will be extended by 5 yalms.
warrior
- AoE combos will now be able to trigger and extend the effects of Damage Up buffs.
- The Assault and Upheaval skills will no longer consume the Beast Gauge.
- Onslaught now has three charges to spend.
- Running Inner Release will allow a new scheduled action to be used.
Black Knight
- The Salt Land will now appear where you are now and allow the use of a new planned action.
- When you get one of the new working abilities in Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker, your living shadow will get a new planned action.
- Delirium’s cooldown has been reduced to 60 seconds.
- The range of Plunge will be extended by 5 yalms.
Weapon breaker
- Savage Claw and Wicken Talon abilities will transform into Gnashing Fang upon activation, freeing up space on your hotbar.
- Continuation can now be used after performing Burst Strike.
- A new trait will add one round to your Gunblade, bringing the maximum number of rounds to three.

All melee DPS jobs
- The Feint skill will be changed to reduce physical and magical damage inflicted. Note that the physical damage reduction will be stronger than the magic reduction.
- Ranged attacks will no longer break melee combos.

Dragon
- Dragoon AoE’s damage rotation will be extended. For example, the Hollow out action is now included in the area damage rotation.
- Spine Shatter Dive now has two charges.
- Lance Charge’s overhaul timers will now be 60 seconds and Battle Litany will now be 120 seconds.
- A new, undisclosed action will be available after successfully performing weapon skill combo spins.
- The Blood of the Dragon action will be transformed into a trait.
Monk
- The Chakra mechanic will now be unlocked at a lower level.
- When certain conditions are met, Perfect Balance will allow the use of a Masterful Blitz. Under the effect of the perfect balance, your weapon skills will change the available Blitz charges.
- The shoulder tackle will be removed and replaced with a new jump action with three charges that will allow you to jump on selected enemies or allies.
- True Strike and Twin Snakes will have their position restrictions removed.
Samurai
- AoE combos can now receive the effects of Jinpu and Shifu.
- A new action in conjunction with Iaijutsu and Tsubame-gaeshi will be available.
- Tsubame-gaeshi and Meikyo Shisui will now have two charges.
- The third eye now grants 10 points to the Kenki gauge.
Ninja
- New actions associated with Raiton, Doton and Huton will be included.
- A new action will be added which will make the Huton app much easier.
- The Shadowfang skill will be removed.
combine
- Summon a Void Avatar to fight alongside you.
- Able to grant buffs to the entire party while a Reaper attacks.
- The Soul Gauge is used to unlock new attacks.
- The Sail Gauge allows you to become one with your Void Avatar and use its abilities.
- The Gate is a mobility action that allows you to teleport back and forth to where you placed the Gate.
Changes in Final Fantasy XIV Job: Remote physical DPS

All DPS work remotely physical
- Weapons of the same item level will have parity between their physical and magical attributes. The powers of action will change to accommodate this adjustment of weapons.
- Party-wide defensive ability cooldown will be reduced to 90 seconds.
Bard
- Each of the Bard’s three songs will allow the use of a new, undisclosed action that will grant a buff to the entire group.
- After running Apex Arrow, a new action will be available for use.
- The duration of each song will be increased to 45 seconds.
- The Wanderer’s Minuet and Combat Voice skills will have their overhaul timers adjusted to 120 seconds.
Machinist
- The Machinist will receive a new action called Chain Saw.
- The Queen of Automatons should receive a new action.
- A new Shotgun AoE action will be added.
- The Reassemble skill will now have two charges.
Dancer
- Weapon skill effects such as Flourishing Cascade can be split between single target and AoE skills.
- After doing the technical finishing, improvisation and devil, you can follow them with new undisclosed actions.

All Magic Remote DPS work
- The Addle skill will be changed to reduce physical and magical damage inflicted. Note that the magic damage reduction will be stronger than the physical reduction.
Black Magus
- While under the effects of Astral Fire or Shadow Ice, Enochian will now automatically be applied as a trait.
- New single-target Fire and Ice spells.
- The Black Mage will receive new AoE Fire and Ice spells.
- The Sharpcast will receive an additional charge.
- When certain parameters are met, switching between Astral Fire and Umbral Ice will make new actions available.
Red mage
- After running Scorch, a new action will be available.
- Verflare, Verholy, and Scorch will be transformed into AoE skills and will be part of the AoE damage rotations.
- The Red Mage will receive a new group-wide spell that grants defensive properties.
- The mana cost of all Red Mage actions will be reduced.
Summoner
- All skills and actions that apply damage over time effects will be removed. Abilities that depend on damage over time effects to deal additional damage will be adjusted accordingly to compensate.
- Summoners are now able to summon Ifrit, Titan, and Garuda in their actual form, and not just as Egis.
- After summoning Ifrit, Titan or Garuda, you gain elemental properties that allow you to perform each of the characteristic movements of the Primal.
- Bahamut and Phoenix summon duration will be reduced to 15 seconds.
Changes in Final Fantasy XIV Job: Healers

All healer jobs
- Each healer will receive new spells that grant single target buffs.
- Casting time for offensive spells will now be reduced to approximately 1.5 seconds.
- The area of effect range of their limit breaks will be extended by 50 yalms.
White mage
- The White Mage will receive a new healing field spell, with a distinct appearance.
- The Fluid Aura action will be removed.
- A higher level of Sacred will be added.
- The Divine Benison will receive a supplement.
Astrologer
- The Day Sect and Night Sect abilities will be removed. Healing actions will be adjusted to inherit the effects of the Day Sect to compensate for the removal of the Day Sect.
- An additional card slot will be added.
- The Divination action will have its effects adjusted and you can now apply the buffs used in the seals on yourself.
Learned
- The Scholar will receive a new action that will improve the group’s movement speed, even in the middle of combat.
sage
- Barrier-focused healing work that heals designated allies while attacking enemies.
- The Sage will have unique resources and mechanics to activate healing, buffing, and damage actions.
What are the job changes that excite you the most?
As you can see, there are a lot of working changes to adjust when Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker arrives. The job changes I look forward to the most would be the Summoner. Being able to summon the true forms of Ifrit, Titan, and Garuda in addition to Demi-Bahamut and Phoenix looks and sounds truly epic, and aligns more closely with the classic summoner class of previous Final Fantasy titles.
I can’t wait to see the levels of chaos these new Job tweaks will cause when Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker has a scheduled launch date of November 23, 2021.

The documents confirm 5G, NFC, Wi-Fi 6 and mention “Wireless Power Transfer”. While it could be Qi wireless charging, there might be a more likely answer to what this refers to.
