Final list of Sega Genesis games: All 42 games on the Sega Retro console

We have not even reached E3 2019 yet, but we are already getting great gaming announcements. Sega unveiled the final list of games for the Sega Genesis Mini and even added an extra surprise: instead of the 40 games originally promised, Sega announced an additional 12 games today, bringing the total number of games to 42. Genesis classics.

Road Rash II and Strider, a marvel of 8 MB, are among the recently announced games. Perhaps even cooler is the addition of games that have never officially appeared in the Sega Genesis, including Monster World IV, Tetris and Darius. Sega said the E3 2019 attendees would be among the first in the world to play on Genesis' Tetris port (Tetris arrived on the Mega Drive in 1989, but Nintendo then had US distribution rights).

Monster World IV was previously only legible for Genesis via the Virtual Console, PSN or Xbox Live Arcade, a reproduction cart, or on the Sega Ages 2500 Series port of PlayStation 2. Darius has never had a real home version of Sega Genesis. This is the magic of M2.

Given the list of games, the Genesis Mini beats the NES Classic and the Super NES Classic simply by volume. However, the previous licensed Genesis consoles had more games, but the quality was closer to that of the PlayStation Classic. In other words, not good.
