The Houston Rockets defeated the Golden State Warriors and won a 118-112 victory. Despite missing the reigning MVP, James Harden, a balanced team effort took the day to Houston, Oakland.
Eric Gordon had 25 points, Chris Paul had played a monster match with 23 points and 17 assists, newcomer Kenneth Faried was 20, and P.J. "Tuckwagon" Tucker had a brilliant 18-point performance punctuated by an excellent defense.
The Durant were led by Kevin Durant, with 29 points, while Stephen Curry had 25 and Klay Thompson added 20. DeMarcus Cousins had a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds, but he had struggling to shoot 4 to 12. The Rockets never let the Warriors get too comfortable.
First half
Houston took the lead 15-0, the Warriors did not seem to be able to dribble, pass or shoot to open the game. When Thompson finally broke the seal of the basket with a deep triple, the impatient crowd burst out as if winning the game. Hilarious.
The Rockets took a 35-20 advantage after a quarter. DeMarcus Cousins had 3 fouls and 1-0 on the field in the first half, showing great commotion but difficulties to finish near the edge. Houston's defense prevented the Warriors from gaining momentum for most of the half, while Paul had a double-double (10 points, 11 assists) after two quarters.
Durant carried the charge early with 19 for the champions, while Curry caught fire at the end of the second to take 13 points in the half.
In addition, just before the half, Curry contacted Andre Iguodala for a super lay-up and Draymond Green leveled Paul with a monster screen.

As shown by tweeting explosions related to P.J. Tucker, the former Longhorn experienced a third quarter of an hour. He blocked Thompson and Curry on back-to-back possessions and finished the third period with a long-range fadeaway drummer. The Rockets took an advantage of 92-86 in the fourth quarter.
Draymond Green turned his ankle on Cousins' foot early in the fourth quarter and left the game.
Both teams fought on the stretch, the Rockets repelling each warrior with resistance and intelligence.
The Warriors reduced the advance to four hours later, but failed to overcome the bump.
This marks the Rockets' third consecutive victory over the Warriors; who can not sit well with the champions. Good game Houston!
