"The Big Bang Theory" has completed its long and successful career as a leading comedy on television with a discreet yet emotional farewell to the intrepid gang of incredible nerds.

The long series on CBS has ended with two latest episodes, "The Constant Change" and "The Stockholm Syndrome", in a late night finale on Thursday night. The series is out of the air with the greatest number of episodes for a multi-camera series ever made with 279 episodes. He surpassed NBC's "Cheers," broadcast for 12 seasons and 275 episodes.
Thursday's final was followed by a behind-the-scenes tour of the show "Decipher the Mystery: A Farewell to the Big Bang" with Johnny Galecki, who played Leonard, and Kaley Cuoco, who hosted Penny.

In the final, the friends of the series made one last trip together to support married couples Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Amy (Mayim Bialik) after winning the Nobel Prize in physics. The couple waited anxiously on the phone while his friends called them before receiving the decision.
The latest episodes have been filled with surprises, including Penny Pregnancy news, a Sarah Michelle Gellar surprise-camera and the elevator finally repaired after a breakdown during most of the series.

This included a scene in which Bialik, who is a neuroscientist in real life, urges girls to pursue a scientific career during his Nobel Prize acceptance speech. "Girls who dream of science" should ignore critics, she said.
In the end, Sheldon, often absorbed by himself, followed his wife with his own heartfelt speech on the importance of friendship. He finally thanked the gang for supporting his various eccentricities over the years.

"The Big Bang Theory" made its debut in 2007 and overcame the first doubts to become a cult classic after being questioned about the series' chances of survival. With its live audience and the use of multiple cameras, the series is a return to early television comedies, but its formula has proven popular.
The show was led by a team of incredible nerds featuring Parsons, Cuoco, Galecki, Bialik, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar and Melissa Rauch.
He won 10 Emmy Awards, including four for Parsons.
Comedy is one of the most popular shows on television. Last week's episode was the most-watched show on television or cable with 12.5 million viewers, beating HBO's "Game of Thrones," which ends its series Sunday after eight years of # 39; existence.

Parsons said the end of the series looks like a "real moment of passage", which has been filled with memories and tears. Galecki said the show had touched "so many hearts".
