finally Univision stations back on Dish Network after 9 months of porting conflict

A Spanish-language station is blocked on Dish since last June

Univision and Dish Network have ended their nine-month dispute between the two carriers and signed a new contract on Tuesday.

The new agreement gives Univision the chains Dish service, which is effective immediately. The new agreement covers channels like Univision, UNIMAS, Univision Deportes Network, GalavisiĆ³n, and TL Novelas FOROtv. Separately, the companies agreed to settle all pending proceedings against each other.

In June, Univision ceased serving over 60 stations programmed for Dish Network Sling and prevented customers from accessing its channels on the network.

"We want to thank our Dish customers for their patience as we worked to reach a fair agreement for all parties, especially our customers," said Erik Carlson, President and CEO of Dish. "For over 20 years, Dish is the leader in our industry serving the US Hispanic community. Today's announcement demonstrates our commitment to providing quality content to the right value."

Univision is the leading Spanish-language broadcast network in the United States. The long interruption of taxes paid by Dish has hurt the earnings of Univision in recent quarters. The new agreement comes just days after rival Viacom and Dish, DirecTV, have had their own contentious negotiations for retransmission, although this has led to any failure.

"We are delighted to & # 39; have reached an agreement with Dish that recognizes the value of our rated networks and stations," said the CEO & # 39; Univision, Vince Sadusky. "We are eager to provide new customers of Dish DishLATINO and the content & # 39; news, sports and entertainment that & # 39; they love. Thank you to our loyal audience for your unwavering support.
