Firefox has disabled all add-ons because a certificate has expired

Many Firefox users around the world are browsing without their usual extensions after having suddenly stopped working earlier tonight. The event occurred when the clock was reversed on UTC time (Coordinated Universal Time, GMT or Greenwich Mean Time), and the affected users l? have quickly reduced to "the expiration of the intermediate signing certificate" – as described in the Mozilla bug tracking.

That same problem almost happened three years ago, but "armagadd-on" 2.0 apparently took the developers by surprise. A message from Caitlin Neiman on the Mozilla forums has confirmed the problem, although there is still no timetable for a fix:

At around 6:10 am PST, we received a report stating that a certificate problem for Firefox was causing the termination of the add-ons and the failure of the installation of the add-ons.

Our team is actively working on a fix. We will update as soon as we have more information.
