The duos in the Battlefield 5 Battle Royal "Firestorm" mode were officially removed by DICE. In a Reddit thread, originally reported by VG24 / 7, DICE community leader Freeman explained that the mode failed to attract enough players, who preferred solos or teams.

Duos was launched in April as a time-limited mode and was later removed shortly thereafter. According to Freeman, enough players have expressed interest in the duos mode for DICE to implement it permanently.

"Since then, we've seen more and more people come back to Squads mode, with fewer people preferring to use Firestorm in Duo – so we'll go back to the original plan today and we've disabled pairing," writes Freeman. .

Solo and Squad modes are still available, as when launching Battlefield 5 Firestorm mode.

Will the duos mode come back? "We never say never. We are confident to see him again! Says Freeman.

"We're going to look for ways to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to take advantage of these modes after their initial availability, without compromising the gaming experiences of players who prefer to stay with the basic game modes," Freeman added.
