It doesn’t look like Omar Khan is leaving the Steelers just yet. Seattle’s new NHL franchise will have very familiar Penguins alumni at the front office. A WPIAL product is upset by what happened in Philadelphia on Sunday night. And there is an update on this allegation of drag racing from the Cleveland Browns players.
Oh, Aaron Rogers loves Iron City beer.

Browns Update
The two alleged Cleveland Browns drag races are scheduled to plead not guilty on Wednesday morning. This is according to their lawyer, via the NFL network.
Wide receiver Rashard Higgins and rookie left tackle Jedrick Wills were cited for drag racing by police Tuesday morning in Westlake, Ohio.
Lawyer Kevin Spellacy, who represents #Browns WR Rashard Higgins and LT Jedrick Wills Jr., tell me he will plead not guilty for both players to drag racing charges on Wednesday morning. It is a first degree offense punishable by a maximum of 6 months and a fine of $ 1,000.

The Browns come to Heinz Field on Sunday to face the Steelers in a playoff game.
According to an Associated Press story account, an incident report stated that a marijuana joint had been “found and destroyed.” It was not immediately clear in which vehicle he had been found. A spokesperson for the team said the Browns were aware of the incident, “gathering more information and will deal with it appropriately.”
Omar is out?
Steelers salary cap scholar Omar Khan has been rumored to have been a potential NFL GM for years. This week it was reported that he was in the mix for the Houston Texans job. The Texans confirmed that report on Monday.
But now ESPN’s Adam Schefter says Nick Casserio is getting the gig.
The Houston Texans have now officially hired former Patriots general manager Nick Caserio as their general manager, as @McClain_on_NFL said they would. The man they tried to hire in 2019 is hired in 2021.

Casserio was the former director of player personnel for the Patriots.
Quite approval
In Wisconsin, they know their beer. And Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is known to take advantage from time to time.

So when such a beer connoisseur approves of Iron City, this is an article worth publishing. And Rodgers did just that on former NFL player Pat McAfee’s show.

Now maybe Rodgers was doing this to play McAfee’s roots as a western Pennsylvania guy. He is a Plum graduate and a former West Virginia Mountaineer punter.
If so, a job well done.
Either way, if Rodgers were ever to succeed Ben Roethlisberger in Pittsburgh, I’m sure approval awaits.

Former Penguins star Ron Francis is stocking his Seattle Kraken front office with many other Pittsburgh alumni.
The franchise’s first general manager hired Jason Botterill and Norm Maciver on Tuesday.

Botterill served on the Penguins’ front office for a 10-year period that saw the team win the Stanley Cup in 2009, 2016 and 2017. He will be assistant general manager in Seattle as he was here in Pittsburgh. Most recently, Botterill was general manager of the Buffalo Sabers.
Maciver, a former Pens defenseman in 1995-96, spent the last 14 seasons with the Chicago Blackhawks, who have also won three Cups.

Maciver had a rather underrated and far too brief tenure with the Penguins in the mid-1990s.

Maciver is expected to be director of player personnel in Seattle. He had been director of player development, director of player personnel and assistant general manager of Chicago.
Straight from Miles’ mouth
Philadelphia running back Miles Sanders is among those unhappy with Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts benching for third baseman Nate Sudfeld on Sunday night.
The high-profile incident helped Washington win the NFC East and pushed back any chance of New York winning it at 6-10.
Now the Penn State product and the Woodland Hills graduate are making his opinion known.
“Dude, if I’m being honest, nobody liked the decision. Nobody, ”Sanders told 94WIP Tuesday. “That’s all I can really say. I don’t know who was the main person behind this decision. All I know is a lot of the team (were) confused.
But let’s be honest. The Eagles stink. The entire division stinks. And Washington was probably the better team anyway.
