The first Geekbench results were recorded today for the new 8-core MacBook Pro. The single-core and multi-core scores show improvements for the new laptop compared to the next-generation MacBook Pro, with multi-core results coming close to Apple's up to 40 percent faster performance.
Spotted by MacRumors, the performance results of the new 8-core MacBook Pro have been released on Geekbench today. The single-core has reached 5879 for the new laptop, against 5348 for the MacBook Pro 2018. This is almost a 10% increase in performance.
Meanwhile, the 2019 MacBook Pro showed a multi-core score of 29,184 by leveraging the new 8-core Intel i9 processor, showing an improvement of about 29% over the 22620 that the MacBook Pro 2018 to 6 hearts got.
Apple says the new 8-core MacBook Pro can offer up to 40% performance improvement with some workflows such as 3D renderings in Autodesk Maya. It also indicates that the new machine is up to twice as fast with rendering speeds as a 15-inch MacBook Pro four-core. Time will tell that the 8-core variant hits the market if some applications will see these gains.
When it announced the new MacBook Pro, Apple also gave some examples of performance improvements for other applications comparing the new 8-core model to the previous 15-core 15-core MacBook Pro in its trials.
