Amid rumors that the Apple Watch Series 7 could go on sale in a few weeks, new images shared with MacRumors reportedly showed the new Apple Watch in the wild, giving us our first real look at Apple’s latest watch.
The images were originally posted to a Facebook group for Apple Watch enthusiasts, but have been removed since it was posted. The poster in the photos claimed they worked for a carrier that was testing the Series 7 before it went on sale officially “later this fall.”
So far, we’ve only seen Series 7 in Apple’s marketing and promotional materials, and the company has yet to announce a date when it will be available for purchase. The images shared today give us our first hands-on look at the 7 Series with its larger and larger screen. Despite rumors, the Series 7 does not feature flat edges but rather “more rounded and softer corners”, which allows the screen to curve slightly to the sides.
The larger screen is one of the few design changes for the 7 Series from the previous generation. The Series 7 features an improved IP6X rating for dust and water resistance, but internally retains the same processor as the Apple Watch Series 6.
While there can certainly be more internal changes for the 7 Series, we’ll have to wait until we get our hands on the watch itself to find out more. For a full rundown of everything we know, be sure to check out our full rundown.
