IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) – Weather forecasts call for the first significant snowfall on Monday evening. While most areas will see negligible amounts of snow, some areas of the Tetons and Tetons foothills can receive up to a foot of snow.

The Idaho Department of Transportation feels as ready and prepared as it gets. They have been preparing for it since the end of the winter season. The salt reserves are fully stocked and ready to use. The Transportation Department also received a new delivery of trucks in the spring which they are excited to use for the upcoming winter season.

The Idaho Department of Transportation is also warning us to take extra precautions when driving in snow. Drivers are advised to keep more distance between themselves and the driver in front, to take more time to reach their destination, and not to pass snowplows on the roads.
