Ocarina of Time

If you are fascinated by early versions of classic games like Zelda: Ocarina of Time, then it might be worth a read …

A first beta version of Link’s iconic action-adventure title from the Nintendo 64 generation has been discovered. It is believed to possibly pre-date Space World ’97 and was found on a cartridge of F-Zero X. This means there is a lot of content (graphics and maps, to be precise) that weren’t cut out in the final version of Zelda 64.

The source – Forest of Illusion – made the map files for this version publicly available – hoping they can be converted into a playable format (it seems there has already been some success). He also specifies that it is obviously do not part of the Nintendo giga leak from last year.
