Five local chicken sandwiches that rival newly opened Chick-fil-A

SPOKANE, Wash. – Tuesday marks the grand opening of Chick-fil-A in Spokane, but if that’s not your thing, we’ve got five local alternatives that might scratch that chicken sandwich itch!

Kris Kilduff, food writer and food connoisseur from Spokane, shared five local sandwiches on Food Finder Spokane, which he says brings Chick-fil-A “out of the water.”

Logan Tavern

Thursday-only special, their Fried Chicken Sandwich comes with a commendable Kilduff recommendation, touting their combo of crispy buttermilk fried chicken, hot honey, and guacamole. Kilduff notes that you can also ask to ‘make it sexy’ for an extra dollar, although it wasn’t clear what that meant – so now we have to find out!

Hogwash Whiskey Den

Chef CJ Callahan is no stranger to great chicken – Kilduff says he’s just returned from Chicago, where he ran fried chicken pop-ups that quickly sold out! He brings this expertise to his Jamboni Chicken Sandwich; smoke your own ham and make your own pickles.

Cafe Stella

Stella’s Hot Nashville Chicken Sandwich is the sum of three delicious parts: fried chicken, hot sauce and homemade pickles. It’s a simple mix, but Kilduff says they’re bringing it out of the park! “Which is scary,” Kilduff adds, “it’s not even the best sandwich on their menu!”

No-Li Brewery

No-Li is internationally renowned for their killer beers, so you might forget that they have an awesome menu too! According to Kilduff, the cornerstone of their high pub fare is their Bavarian chicken pretzels and sandwiches – the latter just being fried chicken and works, but No-Li perfected it.

Incrediburger & Eggs

Kilduff struggled to name which is the best about Incrediburger – so he settled for two! Their Korean Honey Butter Sando is exotic and interesting and is topped with kimchi, but an equal competitor is the much more humble but equally tasty “ Chicken and Egg ” with homemade buttermilk cookies, mustard aioli and crispy delicious chicken. .
