Five people and an unborn child were killed in a mass shooting at a home in Indianapolis early Sunday morning, according to a report.
A young man was also found injured in what investigators believe was a targeted attack by multiple shooters around 4 a.m., the Indianapolis Star reported, citing police.
“This morning, one or more people committed an evil act in our city,” Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett said at a press briefing last Sunday, according to the newspaper.
“What happened this morning was not a simple act of gun violence… what happened this morning was a mass murder,” the mayor said.
Indianapolis Metro Police Department chief Randal Taylor said the violence was the “biggest mass shooting” in Indianapolis in more than a decade, according to the report.
Police did not immediately reveal a possible motive for the killings.
