Five-star catcher Caleb Burton enlists in Ohio state

Brian Hartline and the Buckeyes nabbed the nation’s 15th overall and second in the 2022 class, as five-star wide receiver Caleb Burton signed to Ohio State. Burton is now joining forces with the Buckeyes’ other huge engagement over the past week with five-star quarterback Quinn Ewers, the No. 2 overall player and the No. 1 quarterback in the 2022 cycle.

Rumors of Burton’s commitment to the Buckeyes began over the weekend of October 24-25, as a multitude of tweets from members of the 2022 Ohio State class began to circulate on Twitter, hinting at potential engagement, and one of the top five. -The names of stars to emerge as a possible engagement was Burton.

The top-notch elite prospect Del Valle (Texas) has long been on the Buckeyes’ radar as a top-in-class target, long before they officially extend an offer on March 24.

Burton’s impressions of Buckeyes receivers coach Brian Hartline were strong from the start, with Burton telling Eleven Warriors before, “I could tell he wanted to be the best at everything he did. Funny, cool guy to talk to. He loves football and he just wants the best for his team.

A major factor in his decision to commit to the state of Ohio was Hartline’s short record of developing players into professional prospects.

“We dug into what the state of Ohio has to offer and how they produce wide receivers after college,” Burton said. “He just said there is no better place, and the offense they are leading is perfect for the WR core. All the people he’s coached and sent into the leagues just show he knows what to do.

The Texas, Ohio State pipeline has also helped a lot, recently with JK Dobbins, Jeff Okudah and Baron Browning as a few prospects from Lone Star State leading the way.
