Flamin ‘Hot Cheetos director reveals the challenges of making a biopic

Flamin ‘Hot director Eva Longoria explains the challenges of filming the biopic Cheetos and the important themes she tries to convey.

Filming Blazing hot, The biopic on Flamin ‘Hot Cheetos creator Richard Montañez came with a few challenges, according to director Eva Longoria. Longoria made her Hollywood debut as an actress. She is best known for her 8-year stint on Desperate housewives like Gabrielle Solis. The actress used the foot she had in Hollywood’s door to become a producer and director. She produced Sneaky damsels, Telenovela, and more and has used his career to raise Mexican-American artists.

Now as Longoria directs Blazing hot, it faces new challenges. Speaking with Variety, she says one of the challenges was how hot it was in the height of summer in New Mexico. Apart from the weather, she wanted “stay true to the theme of the film.While viewers might think a movie titled after Cheetos wouldn’t be that deep, the movie would have a very heartfelt message. It tells the story of Montañez and how he made the American Dream come true with Flamin ‘Hot Cheetos. Longoria says the main theme of the biopic is “the opportunity is not evenly distributed.“Longoria’s full comment can be read below:

“I think the biggest challenge has probably been making sure we stay true to the theme of the film, which is that the opportunities aren’t evenly distributed. And when that happens, you have to work twice as hard and twice as long and be twice as good. And you still have to persevere and history is so much. It’s from misery to wealth, it’s the American dream 101, it’s a question perseverance is about the outsider, but at the end of the day it’s also about a person’s perspective and their own struggle, so it’s a beautiful, beautiful biopic.

These challenges were only amplified by accusations that Montañez embellished his involvement in the creation of Flamin ‘Hot Cheetos. Longoria acknowledges the accusations, and while firmly supporting Montañez, she said the claims have only added to the list of filming difficulties. Her priority in making this biopic was to stay “authentic” to the true story, which she thought she had done, as well as to represent the successes of Montañez and the Mexican-American community.
