Today during its DC Fandome panel, Flash revealed that Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) will have a new costume. You may remember the costume he wore Zack Snyderthe movies were a bit oversized. He was far too aware of being “realistic,” which meant he had plates and wires to disperse electricity, which made sense, but didn’t quite look great.

Director Andy Muschietti revealed that for Flash solo movie, Barry will now have a new costume that was designed by Bruce Wayne because when the Mentor Superhero and Protected Superhero formula works for Marvel, you don’t play with it. Also, the logic makes sense (who else is going to design Barry’s costume unless you want to bring in a bunch of STAR Labs stuff). Personally, I’m glad we have a new Flash outfit because I wasn’t really a fan of the last one. The new outfit should also help differentiate this new Shine of a DCEU that has been largely abandoned. Sure, we’ll have The Snyder Cut next year, but it will now exist more in the form of a tantalizing “What if?” rather than a new direction for DC movies. 2017 marked a breaking point with that vision, and so it’s fitting that The Flash receives a new costume to suit Muschietti’s vision.

The other big news in terms of concept art shows Barry Allen is teaming up with Michael keatonBatman. We knew Keaton was coming back to play Dark Knight, but this concept art clearly shows Keaton’s Batman return as it was the only iteration on the big screen to use the yellow circle bat badge. This should make a fun combination, and hopefully Christina hodsonThe script takes advantage of these great personalities.

Check out concept art below. Flash opens June 3, 2022 and also features Ben affleck.
