The production is well advanced on the DC Flash film, which brings a rendition of the Scarlet Speedster that has yet to be made live-action. A lot of speculation and hype surrounded the project, especially regarding the multiple incarnations of Batman – the versions of Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck – who are set to appear in the film. While we’ll still have to wait until at least the DC FanDome convention in October to see what their roles entail, a new photo shared by director Andy Muschietti definitely adds to the speculation. The photo, which you can check out below, shows Keaton’s 1989 Batman costume emblem, which appears to have been painted red with a yellow Flash emblem on it.
At this point, anyone can guess what this new version of the Batman costume involves – could it be an alternate costume for Keaton? Is it a trophy in the style of Batman’s “Jokerized” costume in Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice? Or could he be referring to Red Death, the Batman and Flash hybrid of the Dark Nights: Metal scenario? Fans will just have to wait and see. Given the other rumors surrounding alternate versions of characters in Flash, everything is possible.
Flash should be directed by Muschietti, with a screenplay by Birds of prey and Batgirl’s Christine Hodson. We expect to see the return of iterations of Batman from Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton, as well as Sasha Calle as Supergirl, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Ron Livingston as Henry Allen, Maribel Verdu as Nora Allen, Ian Loh as a young Barry. Allen, and Saoirse-Monica Jackson and Rudy Mancuso playing roles currently unknown.
“What captivated me Flash is the human drama in it, ā€¯Muschietti previously revealed. “The human feelings and emotions that play out in the drama [of it]. It’s gonna be fun too. I can’t promise there will be a horror [elements in it], really, but it’s a beautiful human story. “
