Flex Alert released across California to save energy

FOLSOM (KRON) – While the heat wave was spreading in California, many households have turned to blowing out their air conditioning and using fans.

This has led the California Independent System Operator Corporation to issue a Flex alert at the state level.

The Flex Alert calls for a voluntary conservation of electricity from 16h. at 10 pm Tuesday.

ISO asks consumers to avoid consuming energy in the afternoon by following these tips:

  • Set the thermostat to 78 ° or more and turn it off
  • Cool with the fans and pull the curtains
  • Turn off lights and unnecessary devices
  • Use major appliances in the morning or late at night
