Florida Gators Fall Camp Highlights from Day One

The Florida Gators kicked off fall camp on Friday at the football training grounds and on a beautiful day in Gainesville. The Gators have plenty of new faces for the 2021 season. Much of the action was captured on video here courtesy of Gator Vision.

It is one of the most exciting times of the year for the football program. Players can take care of that for a bit as the newer Gators get a taste of taking on their teammates and their coaches are chasing them as well.

Florida have a lot to replace from last season’s high-octane offense, starting with quarterback Emory Jones who will replace Kyle Trask’s record. Wide catcher Jacob Copeland will get his first taste of being the best dog at position this year. He should be the leader of a relatively young group, but he enjoys the help of a handful of guys who have played a decent amount of football. The running back position is loaded with five guys who could all see the ball a lot this season.

In defense, the defensive front has a few new faces down the middle with Antonio Valentino (Shelton) and Daquan Newkirk expected to anchor the middle of the defensive line. Both have been transferred from Power 5 programs and both will be pushed by the return of first-year Gervon Dexter.

The secondary will have a lot of new faces playing a lot of football and it can be safe to say that four of the five starting points in the defensive backfield are undecided at this point.

It’s the start of football, the best time of the year. Enjoy the video above.
