Georgian officials told Fox News they were investigating a Florida lawyer for attempting to vote illegally in the second round of the state Senate on January 5, after a video emerged in which he declared his intention to temporarily move to Georgia and encouraged others to use his same address.
In a Nov. 7 speech to the Bay County Republican Party in Florida, Florida attorney Bill Price announced he was “moving” to Georgia to vote for the Republican Senate candidates to help Republicans win. retain a majority in the Senate.
“If we lose the Senate on January 5 in Georgia, we will become Venezuela,” he told the crowd inside the county seat in a video posted to their Facebook page, “and I will invite everyone of you to be my roommate in Georgia.
“I’m changing my voter registration right now, and I’m inviting two million people to be my roommate.”

Moving to Georgia temporarily just to vote is a crime in the state, according to the Georgian Secretary of State’s office.
“Registering without intention of permanent residence is a crime,” the office said in a statement to Fox News from spokesperson Walter Jones. “Only permanent residents have the right to vote in Georgia.”
“Secretary Raffensperger has made it clear that he has no tolerance for election wrongdoing and will investigate any credible evidence of this,” the statement said.
“It’s only for a few months,” Price says on the video as he encourages the crowd to join him. “We will have buses leaving here for Atlanta the day before January 5th and I may need you to help me get back to Florida on January 6th.”
Price is understood to encourage participants to use his brother’s address, who lives in Georgia, to register to vote there.

“We have to start fighting back and we have to do whatever it takes,” he says in the footage. “And if that means changing your address for the next two months, so be it.”
“We will make room for you at the table,” he said before pronouncing his brother’s address several times.
“A lawyer should know better,” said Deidre Holden, chairman of the Paulding County Board of Elections, where Price attempted to register to vote. “It’s fraud,” she said, “especially after her speech on Facebook.”

An investigator contacted Holden Monday morning as part of a state investigation, Holden said.
“I’m a Republican,” she said, “but I just think it’s wrong when someone tries to vote illegally and then tell other people to vote.
