A man has died after jumping from a balcony at a Florida resort with a parachute, police said, according to reports released Sunday.
The unidentified man allegedly jumped from the 14-story balcony of the Sunrise Beach Resort in Panama City Beach, WMBB reported.

Authorities said the man was jumping in BASE and his parachute did not open in time, according to the station.
Authorities believe the man was in his twenties, Panama City’s WJHG-TV reported. It is not clear if he was an out-of-state resident.

Panama City Beach, a popular spring break destination, is located approximately 160 km southwest of Tallahassee.
