Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a student who went missing over the weekend near the University of Central Florida, authorities said Monday.

Miya Marcano, a 19-year-old dating Valence College, was last seen Friday at her home at the Arden Villas apartment complex in Orlando, about a mile from the UCF campus, Orange County Sheriff’s Deputies said.

She was scheduled to fly from Orlando to Fort Lauderdale on Friday night to visit her family, but missed the flight and hasn’t heard from since, relatives told NBC affiliate WESH.

“All we ask of you is to help us bring Miya home,” Marcano’s grandmother, Joysue Thompson, told the news channel. “Take her home safely, just drop her off and tell us where she is and we’ll come and get her – just take her home.”

Even if she is not a student at UCF, school officials asked everyone on their campus to keep tabs on Marcano or provide any information that could help investigators.

Authorities said she was 5 feet tall, weighed 130 pounds, and had brown hair and green eyes.
