No. 16 Florida St. ran 15-2 to end the first period and win a dominant 77-64 win over Clemson on Tuesday night at the Littlejohn Coliseum, giving the Tigers a three-game losing streak after toppling a team. ranked Virginia Tech. February 9th.
Clemson drops to 15-11 overall and at 5-8 to the ACC game, while Florida St.'s improves to 21-5 overall and 9-4 in the league.

eighth consecutive game of ACC – they have won each of their matches since their victory over Clemson 77-68 on January 22 in Tallahassee. Florida State is 4-0 at home and 4-0 on the road in ACC matches during its seven-game winning streak. Clemson is now 32-43 of all time against the Seminoles.
Marcquise Reed leads Clemson with 20 points, while Elijah Thomas added 13 and Shelton Mitchell 12
The FSU outscored Clemson 19-9 in second place, the Tigers 43-32, Seminole on 30-2 and FSU Clemson 36-26.
"Well, a hard night tonight. We just did not play as well as we played in some games. The state of Florida is largely a very good player, "said Clemson head coach Brad Brownell. "Physically, they are difficult to manage. They are big and strong in every position, from leader to defender. "
Florida St. had a 15-point lead in the intermission and kept that margin for much of the first 11 minutes of the second half. The Seminoles opened a 59-43 lead after a David Nichols play with 10:42 to play, but the Tigers began to show signs of life.
Elijah Thomas grabbed his own miss and hit the next ball to bring the score to 59-49. He was fouled on the game and managed a free kick to put 59-50 to play in 8:44, as part of a 7-0 run at Clemson. Following a Seminole rollover, Skara grabbed a rebound and managed a free kick to return to 59-52.
Florida St. finally pushed the lead to 13-5 at 53-5 and the Tigers could not get back to a figure as the Seminoles made free throws.
"I thought our kids had tried. I thought we had energy. I thought we were ready, "said Brownell. "I thought we were demoralized in the first period when we could not score. I thought it was taking some juice from our guys. They have a lot of guys. It's their strength. They keep the bodies fresh in the defense. They wear you down. This is obviously not a strength for this year's team for us. Our bench just does not produce at the level. Our freshmen are not quite ready.
The Tigers took the advantage 6-2. David Skara opened the game with a pointer to 3, and gave a free kick a minute later to give Clemson the advantage of four points. That's when the Noles started their first big halftime series, outscoring Clemson 10-0 in the space of four minutes to take a 12-6 lead.
The Seminoles finally opened a 9-point lead at 23-14, but Mitchell was fouled and shot the free kick after hitting a 3-pointer, and Reed hit his own 3-pointer who brought Clemson to 23 – 23 21
That's when the FSU made another 10-0 try for five minutes to take a 33-21 lead with just over two minutes to play. Skara opened the scoring with 1:45 to play to end the race, but Noles ended the half-time on another 5-0 run to take a 38-23 lead in the break. Overall, Florida St. outscored Clemson 15-2 in the last five minutes of the second half.
Clemson returns to action Saturday, hosting Boston College in a noon board.
