Florida’s Eligibility Age for Vaccine Raised to 40 and Over

JACKSONVILLE, Florida – Florida’s eligibility age for getting the COVID-19 vaccine drops to 40 and over on Monday, making it available to an additional 2.5 million Floridians.

The age requirement went from 60 years and over to 50 years and over last week.

On April 5, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said Florida would open the age eligibility requirement to people 18 and over. In addition, people between the ages of 16 and 17 will also be eligible, but only for the Pfizer vaccine.

There are also mobile clinics, pop-up sites, and retail pharmacies, but it’s still unclear how much demand for the vaccine will increase as Florida expands eligibility.
