Flyers name Alain Vigneault head coach

The Philadelphia Flyers have appointed Alain Vigneault as a freelance writer, a senior vice president and a general manager, Chuck Fletcher.

In addition, he has coached in his career Stanley Cup Playoff games, including trips to the Stanley Cup Final in 2011 with the Vancouver Canucks and Western Conference Champions, and again in 2014 with the New York Rangers as Eastern Conference Champions.
