When NBC announced that Adele would be hosting her first episode of Saturday Night Live Recently, many fans have speculated that the move – which, let’s be honest, was a bit unexpected – was for her a setup to announce a long-awaited new album (after all, she apparently teased some friends with any news about it in February). This did not turn out to be the case, however, with Adele saying on SNL that his new album is simply “not finished” and that she just wanted to “put on wigs”, drink wine and have fun SNL. (It was a nice episode, with at least one pretty smart sketch.)
The Foo Fighters, on the other hand, showed up for their appearance on Saturday Night Live last night with something to announce. They were the musical guests, which (without offending the musical guests) is probably an easier concert than hosting, but either way they performed a new song, “Shame Shame,” and later announced that ‘she will appear on a new album very early next year. As reported by Variety, the LP is called Medicine at midnight and it will be available on February 5, 2021. Variety says it was “recorded in a 1940s house in the Encino neighborhood of Los Angeles and completed several months ago,” if those kinds of details have any impact on how you feel about the music Dave Grohl and the Foos do. The album was also produced by Greg Kurstin, who previously worked on – Drama Break – Adele 25. Full circle!
