Ford delays some Mustang Mach-E orders for ‘quality checks’

Ford technically started Mustang Mach-E deliveries in December, but some drivers will have to wait much longer. Electrek has learned that Ford has delayed several hundred deliveries of the electric crossover for up to a month for “additional quality checks.” The brand did not say what problems could have caused the checks, but said it wanted to be sure the electric vehicle met the quality levels that buyers “expect and deserve.”

The move comes just weeks after Ford EV chief executive Darren Palmer denounced the quality issues at Tesla. He promised the Mustang Mach-E would avoid the basic production and manufacturing issues that plagued Tesla EVs, such as loose bumpers and stuck door handles. Some electric vehicles in the industry have experienced general reliability issues, including electrical failures.
