Ford has a different way of ‘renting’ the Mustang Mach-E

[ad_1]

Alex from the YouTube channel Alex on Autos ordered the Mach-E in a very Tesla-esque way: make an initial deposit ($ 500) at the launch event and wait a long time to get it (14 months). The difference goes through a dealer to close the sale.

But what is interesting is how he was able to “hire” it through Ford. It is not a traditional lease. You borrow money from Ford as a loan, and Ford has an agreement to buy the car back from you at a certain price if you follow the terms of the contract.

However, your name is on the title. He says this allows Ford to give you the full $ 7,500 tax credit, which isn’t always the case with traditional leases. He plans to hold it for 9-12 months and buy it back with a large amount.

If you go to the Mach-E order site and build the one you want, then you can click on the Funding button at the top left of the screen. If you want to “lease” it from Ford, click on the Ford options plan (interesting name). Then you can enter the term length, mileage, and down payment to see your monthly estimate. You will have an order page showing the progress of your Mach-E after placing the order.

He chose the Premium version with the extended battery (88 kWh against 68 kWh in the standard range) and twin motors (AWD). At 1:19 in the video, he shows you the price of his Mach-E. I don’t know how the price started at $ 42,895 because when I built the same Mach-E it was $ 56,200.

Anyway, what’s interesting is the $ 4,100 he received in incentives on top of the $ 7,500 tax credit, which makes $ 31,295 (theoretically). The standard Tesla Model Y range (RWD) starts at $ 39,990 and the long range (AWD) starts at $ 49,990. Just keep in mind that Teslas is no longer eligible for the $ 7,500 tax credit, but that will change if the Green Act bill passes.

Check out the follow-up videos for this one if you’re thinking about getting a Ford Mustang Mach-E. I met Alex. The guy loves electric vehicles, has known them and has been reviewing cars for a long time.
