Jonah Hill and Emma Stone in the science fiction series Netflix Maniac.

Netflix

The Batman movie directed by Matt Reeves already has his drive in Robert Pattinson but rumors suggest that he could soon have his villain. Jeffrey Wright (The goldfinch) would be in talks with Commissioner Gordon, allied with Batman, and actor Jonah Hill (The Wolf of Wall Street) would as well rumored as a possible DC Comics villain.

This is not clear according to the casting rumor reported by Deadline on Monday which Naughty Hill is envisioned in the upcoming Warner Bros. movie, but it would be a compelling choice to portray Penguin or Riddler.

Warner Bros. did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

But apart from Hill, I have my own list of actors who, in my opinion, would make (maybe more) nasty Batman interesting.

The actor Zachary Quinto in the role of Dr. Thredson in American Horror Story.

FX Networks

Most of us know Zachary Quinto from his interpretation of Spock in the Star Trek movies recently restartedbut Quinto is very good at playing terrifying characters. He describes former horror house owner Chad Warwick in the first season of American Horror Story and psychologist / serial killer Dr. Thredson in the second season. If that's not enough, Quinto also plays the very scary Charlie Manx character in the current NOS4A2 series on AMC. I could see Quinto as a very scary version of Scarecrow or even Joker.

The actor Crispin Glover plays Mr. World in the television series American Gods.

Starz

Glover has already proven itself in Charlie's Angels (2000), Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle (2003) and Lucky Day (2019). More recently, he played the character of Mr. World – the new god of globalization and the leader of the new gods – in the television series Starz American gods. His unusual manners and eccentric look would make him the perfect choice to play Scarecrow. Glover is already skinny and strange enough to start.

Steve Buscemi in the role of kidnapper Carl Showalter in the 1996 film Fargo.

Gramercy Photos

Buscemi is best known for his dark comedy characters and independent films such as Barton Fink (1991), Trees Lounge (1996), The Big Lebowski (1998) and Ghost World (2001). But his real talent lies in playing criminals who also have a weird side. Look at the summary: movies like Miller's Crossing (1990), Reservoir Dogs (1992), Fargo (1996), Con Air (1997) and television shows such as The Sopranos (2004) and Boardwalk Empire (2014) ). He would make an interesting casting choice to play Riddler. It might be one of the first Riddler characters to sound really funny.

Hemlock Grove stars Bill Skarsgard.

Netflix

Nobody can play scary like Skarsgard. He played the Pennywise clown in Stephen King's The It (2017) and It 2 (2019). He may or may not be the devil in the horror TV series stone castle (2018). And he is quite the monster of the series Netflix Hemlock Grove (2013). He could do justice to all the villains of Batman, but it would be exciting to see his version of Scarecrow or even the Joker.

Peaky Blinders stars Cillian Murphy as the gang leader, Tommy Shelby.

Weinstein Company

Murphy has already played the evil Batman Scarecrow in Batman Begins in 2005, so why not replay him like another nasty Batman? In addition, he showed his talent to play another villain, the gang leader Thomas "Tommy" Shelby in the television series Peaky Blinders (2013). His expressive eyes would make him my first choice to be portrayed as the character who "always speaks by asking questions" – none other than Riddler.

The Batman should be released in cinemas on June 25, 2021.
