Former Athlete Coach at Brentwood Academy Reacts to Unexpected Death | New

The family and friends of Brandon Adams still do not know how he died.

The 21-year-old was a defensive line player at Georgia Tech and was considered by many to be a nice giant.

From Midstate to Atlanta, Brandon Adams captured the hearts of everyone he knew.

At Brentwood Academy, he brilliantly practiced athletics playing football, running and wrestling, earning 11 high school letters.

"It's just one of those young men who, you see, wants to be part of everything we do here," said Jason Mathews of the Brentwood Academy coach.

He has also performed in musicals such as The Wizard of Oz. His talents brought him to Georgia Tech where he specialized in business administration and played football.

"It was one of those young men who worked from start to finish to get there," coach Mathews said.

During the weekend, family, friends, teammates and coaches learned some surprising news.

"I did not believe it.You almost think that when they say that Brandon Adams died, it was his father.It was his uncle.It was somebody. one of them, "said Mathews.

On Monday at the Georgia Tech campus, they held a memorial service to celebrate his life.

His former coach at Brentwood Academy said that Adams' impact went beyond his field achievements. It was the time when he made people laugh and comforted them with his larger-than-life personality.

"We've lost a good one, I know that Georgia Tech is really sad.The Brentwood Academy is really sad and a grieving family can not kiss their Brandon.I think it's important to remember that we have a good time. they too, "said Mathews.

Family members are finalizing the funeral arrangements.

Former classmates and coaches of Adams Brentwood Academy told News4 that they planned to be there.
